  1. This was trial & elimination by death squad.

An old man, a diabetic, with serious kidney & liver problerms.

Who couldn't even walk properly .

Who had to be carried piggy back if no motor or animal transport was available.

A practical invalid such as this was summarily assassinated by America's elite soldiers .

Under Obama, Clinton & their collective cabinet's direct gaze & scrutiny.

    Why such unhesitating termination ?

Evidence is mounting the US was in connection with, & surveilling, Osama's immediate circle of top al Qaida leadership ( al Libi, al Iraqi ) since as far back as 2005.

The assassination comes just as the tip of such evidence on the US – al Qaida connection surfaced through Wikileaks' exosures in the Western media.

Wikileaks connected the dots. There was no more time to lose.

No wonder Barney Frank of the Democrats said right on CNN that it was "fortunate" he was killed the way he was. Even the CNN interviewer was visibly shocked at Frank's bluntness.

When such is the open, public stand of America's lawmakers, the truth that the US was & ever increasingly is deep inside a legal black hole becomes clear & self evident.

America is sinking into a moral morass that keeps getting bigger & bigger.

& there's no visible bottom to this dark descent.

  2. 9 / 11 was the peak of Osama's antiamerican thrust.

Afterwards, & in the end, al Qaida's existence served US objectives.

Remember CIA contractor Raymond Davis' cellphones with the phone numbers of Al Qaida contacts in Pakistan found in his car after his arrest ?

The connection is at many levels.

Al Qaida served to justify the continuing US presence in Afpak.

It served to pit Sunni against Shia throughout the Muslim world.

It & its affiliates serve US interests in Afpak, Lebanon, Gaza, Libya, Syria … muddying the regional turmoil, destabilizing countries under regimes with agendas distinct from America's, subverting the prodemocracy struggles, offering footholds for covert CIA ops & direct US / NATO interventions.

Of course al Qaida's a double edged sword.

    Dangerously useful, & usefully dangerous.

  5. Here we go…didn't take long.
The more you weap and ring your hands over the action taken against UBL – the more you isolate your organization from the real world.
The more you isolate your organization from the real world – the less effective you will be combating real and dire human right violations.
Consideration should be for the real victims throughout the world – not those responsible for it.
Spend your limited time and resources on those real violations and those worthy of your efforts. The world will be a better place for it.

  6. @ brian – If you bothered watching the video you would see it doesn't say a word about the death of Bin Laden — it talks about the implications of his death for the broader war on terror, US involvement in the region. So maybe next time you want to take the time to read/watch a blog post before commenting.

  7. I can't believe you have the nerve to post a video on this web site from the single most discredited person ever to speak in the name of Amnesty, namely Sam Zarifi, who has betrayed Amnesty International's ideals in every way shape and form.

Just to remind everyone, Sam Zarifi is known to be the key supporter within Amnesty International for maintaining a very tight association between Amnesty International and Moazzam Begg and his organization Cageprisoners.

Moazzam Begg himself admits to this day to having moved from England to Afghanistan and training ( to do what? murder of innocent civilians ) in Al Qeda terrorist camps in Afghanistan. That is what he publicly admits to to himself so do not deny it please. Begg is now a famously arrogant radio host of a program he uses to repeatedly advocate the criminal cause of violent world wide Jihad.

Begg is currently the most well known and important advocate and supporter of Anwar al-Awlaki. The web site for Begg's Cageprisoners, with whom, please remember, Sam Zarifi of the above video on this blog thinks it perfectly appropriate for Amnesty to forge such a close tie to, functions as nothing more than a means of mass distributing material about and by al-Awlaki.

To remind you, Al-Awlaki's sermons were often attended by three of the 9/11 hijackers and he met privately with two of them. Al-Awlaki's sermons were also attended by accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. U.S. intelligence intercepted at least 18 emails between Hasan and al-Awlaki in the months prior to the Fort Hood shooting, including one in which Hasan wrote: "I can't wait to join you in the afterlife." After the shooting, al-Awlaki praised Hasan's actions. In March 2010, al‑Awlaki said in a videotape that jihad against American civilians was binding upon every able Muslim.

al-Awlaki and his pet monkey Begg advocate nothing more and nothing less than war crime and crimes against humanity: i.e. the mass murder of innocent civilians in furtherance of the illegal criminal ideology of jihad. Is this not every thing Amnesty International has always stood against?

Or at least I always thought it was judging from the propaganda you put in your Amnesty International fund raising pamphlets requesting donations from us naive rubes.

And how does Sam Zarifi defend himself from these complaints that he, by his actions has forever ruined Amnesty's name by so closely linking Amnesty International to advocates and supporters of the war criminal murderous terrorist ideology like Begg? And how about the fascist like oppression of any dissident inside Amnesty International that dared to utter the slightest objection to this insane policy of Zarifi's, like Gita Sahgal ?

The incredibly weak, laughable, ridiculous, straight out of monty python parody of a human rights activist Sam Zarifi responds to these charges this way:

"I do not oppose our current initiative working with Moazzam Begg in the recent Amnesty International European tour seeking to convince European states to receive more of the Guantánamo detainees. We do not necessarily embrace his views totally."

  8. Here we go again !!

It is high time that Amnesty or any other HR organizations get to know what HR actually is…

I trust that HR is the right for people to live, practice their religions and enjoy this short life we live within Legal boundaries – meaning, if one wants to hurt others for his joy, you cannot call it Human Right of that Bully.

Osama was such Bully and he had to be taken care of for the benefit of the millions of the peace loving Humans who's rights were violated by this brutal terrorist. Humans couldn't walk on streets, be at peace at work or home or even travel using public transport due to retarded Terrorists as Osama.

First, AI and other HR organizations should understand the reason of being Human. Do you think Osama and his team acted as normal Humans would do?? HR laws apply to Humans and not some retarded bunch of Terrorists. It is high time that Terrorists are Stricken off from the list of Humans to whom the rights apply.

Elimination of Such retarded Terrorists Ensures Humans living in peace. I will give the best example from Sri Lanka – The retarded Terrorist Prabaharan and his Terrorist gang was gotten rid of by the Sri Lankan Army and now that country is in peace. All humans remaining immaterial of their ethnicity or religion practiced, live in peace and harmony.

The issue with AI, as I see is that they are confined to what is said in the book of HR and do not posses the brains to think beyond what's written – there is something called the spirit of the law and letter of law. AI and other Hr orgs practice letter of law which does not include using the brains to fathom where the written law could be broken to the obvious betterment of the same law. It is high time we pump some brains in to these organizations than condemn the law. Law, in the hand of idiots is like Monkey given a Sword.

  12. Thank God for that. I was getting slightly worried that AI's spokesdroid Zarifi would let us down and say something intelligent. His comment that OBL was a spent force was one such comment. Perhaps. OBL died for what he had done. Not for the fact that he & AQ are much less influential now.

I'm not a Kenyan, but it must be remembered that that before he attacked the US in 2001, in 1998 OBL's minions murdered over 200 poor Kenyans bombing the US embassy in Nairobi.

I'm certain that the families of those dead Kenyans are also thinking of poor little Osama's kidney problems, as eloquently voiced by the all-purpose lover of terrorism, a.savage.

  17. Here’s Asim Qureshi of Amnesty’s friends from ‘Caged Prisoners’ demanding jihad.

Obviously Amnesty use a special ‘human rights’ translator where the phrase “.. to support the jihad of our brothers and sisters in these countries (Afghanistan etc)..” is sanitised into “we demand comfortable shoes.”

  18. I suppose Sam Zarifi and his bff Moazzam Begg must be so outraged by the completely 100% legal under international law attack President Obama ordered US forces to carry out on Zarifi and Begg's hero, al-Awlaki,

Unfortunately this was a near miss only, but clearly we have this monster on the run and god willing, it won't be too many more days before al-Awlaki rides his own well deserved US drone missile all the way down below to the hot burning place. I am sure Satan has a nice cozy pit of boiling sulfur all prepared and reserved for the rest of eternity especially for al-Awlaki right next to Bin Laden himself.

Why Amnesty International continues to allow this Zarifi character to mix Amnesty's good name up with supporters of the worst terrorist killers and enemies of human rights on earth like Bin Laden and al-Awlaki is beyond me.

    * MAY 7, 2011, Drone Targets Yemeni Cleric

" The U.S. launched a drone strike in Yemen on Thursday aimed at killing Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born radical cleric suspected of orchestrating terrorist attacks in the U.S, but he evaded the missile, Yemeni and U.S. officials said.

The attack came days after a U.S. Navy SEALs team killed Osama bin Laden at a compound in Pakistan. Had Thursday's strike succeeded, the U.S. would have killed two of the most-wanted terrorists in a week.

Mr. Awlaki has emerged as a leading charismatic front-man of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a group the U.S. considers the world's most active terror organization. With bin Laden's death, some officials believe Mr. Awlaki and the Yemen-based group now represent the gravest threat to the U.S.

He has been linked to at least three major incidents: the Ft. Hood shootings, the Christmas 2009 plot to blow up a U.S.-bound passenger plane and a plan to blow up cargo planes.

The attack appears to be unrelated to intelligence information taken in the raid that killed bin Laden, whose death was confirmed by al Qaeda Friday in a statement that vowed to continue attacks on Americans. "

  20. I strongly believe Al-Quaida came into existence because of U.S staunch support to the most brutal state of Israel.
If we need world peace this problem should be addressed immediately without further delay.

  22. Dear Jim hardy,

    i agree with you.

So do millions around the world who connect the dots for themselves.

The issue here is NOT about Mr Zarifi.

    It's NOT about Mr Begg.

    It's NOT about Ms Sehgal.

    It's not about Mr Awlaki.

It's not even about OBL the man or the leader.

At issue here are the questions the WORLD at large is asking today.

It's about how the US is operating ….. everywhere.

    It's about America's ways . And means.

it's about the US approach to everything as "We can do what we damn well please !"

It's about totally dispensing with all legal processes.

    Why, Obama ?

1 ) Why didn't you stick to Bush's original call to the Taliban ?

That OBL be handed over into US custody for PROSECUTION for 9 / 11 ?

2 ) Why did the US soldiers kill 7 unarmed people at the Bin Laden compound, including a woman & a female child ( only one man among the dead being allegedly armed ) ?

Was this to remove as many eye witnesses as possible ?

3 ) Why INSTANTLY assassinate OBL, the key to so many vital questions surrounding 9 / 11 ?

What did he have to reveal … about Al Qaida, the US, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, about all the connections …. that were better HURRIEDLY DUMPED INTO THE SEA with him ?

4 ) Assassinating a man right in front of his wife, his family ?

Was that well done, Obama ?

Is this the new standard American modus operandi ?

    5 ) Why no autopsy ?

What might an autopsy report have revealed ?

6 ) Why no public photos of the body ?

Saddam's sons' bleeding, butchered corpses could be shown publicly .

7 ) Why the HURRY TO BURY OBL ?

Scrupulous adherence by the US to Muslim ritual ?

Since WHEN, after all the millions murdered & raped & tortured across the Middle East ?

Saddam's sons were buried EXACTLY ELEVEN DAYS after their deaths .

8 ) Why bury him at sea ?

    He didn't die at sea.

So the body could never ever be EXHUMED ?

    All the world's asking.

    History's asking.

You can't walk away from this.

  23. Michael Corleone stands as Godfather at his baby nephew's baptism after ordering the slaughter of the Tattaglias & Mo Green & the Don Barzini.

Mo Green gets a direct headshot through the eye as Michael renounces Satan & all his work .

Obama laughs & kids around & teases Donald Trump at the banquet after clearing the assassinations of Qaddafi & his wife & family in their house in Tripoli, & of Bin Laden & his unsuspecting group in theirs in Abbottabad .

Qaddafi's son & 3 grandchildren are blown apart at home in Libya.

A woman, a girl child, & men all unarmed save one are gunned down in their rooms in Pakistan.

In the White House afterwards, Obama comes out to renounce "Terrorism" & all its work.

    Life imitating the Mafia genre.

The only difference is in the global scope & sweep — & the actuality — of the violence in real life, American style.

  24. "Osama Bin Laden he sleeps with the fishes."

The new message from America & the White House.

  25. Again,,.. the crucial question :

Why was he killed when he was ?

Because Wikileaks' publication of its files exposed the fact that Abdul al Iraqi & Abu al Libi, his trusted associates, had revealed OBL's whereabouts to the Americans after they were captured in 2005.

This revelation by Wikileaks would alert al Qaida to the obvious — that Abbottabad was no longer safe —, & they'd try to move him from there.

That's why Obama sent in the Seals when he did.

    ******** ********

Which brings us to Question # 1 :

If the US had known of the Abbottabad house & connection since 2005, why had it waited so long to "get" him ?

    The reason is clear.

Because it suited its purposes to do so.

A senior Pakistani intelligence source called OBL "the goose that laid the golden eggs".

For he annually brought billions in US aid to Pakistan.

To the US military – industrial – security complex, he was such a layer of golden eggs as well.

He kept the annual budgetary appropriations spigots turned on full force.

As General Smedley Butler said it, war's a racket.

    Globally vast, & vastly lucrative.

The concentration & continuation of business by other means, & better.

  29. Again,,.. the crucial question :

Why was he killed when he was ?

Because Wikileaks’ publication of its files exposed the fact that Abdul al Iraqi & Abu al Libi, his trusted associates, had revealed OBL’s whereabouts to the Americans after they were captured in 2005.

This revelation by Wikileaks would alert al Qaida to the obvious — that Abbottabad was no longer safe —, & they’d try to move him from there.

That’s why Obama sent in the Seals when he did.

    ******** ********

Which brings us to Question # 1 :

If the US had known of the Abbottabad house & connection since 2005, why had it waited so long to “get” him ?

    The reason is clear.

Because it suited its purposes to do so.

A senior Pakistani intelligence source called OBL “the goose that laid the golden eggs”.

For he annually brought billions in US aid to Pakistan.

To the US military – industrial – security complex, he was such a layer of golden eggs as well.

He kept the annual budgetary appropriations spigots turned on full force.

As General Smedley Butler said it, war’s a racket.

    Globally vast, & vastly lucrative.

The concentration & continuation of business by other means, & better.

I guess Pres Obama didn't want to upset the Islamists, so we aren't going to see a pic of OBL. Shame..

In Sri Lanka, we just wanted to let the Eelamists know that it really was 'Game Over'. This is especially for a.savage to show the death of a terrorist should be announced.

  44. In the 19th century, a US Congressman said :

To deal with the Indian tribes, as with the wild animals of the forest, the law does not have to be observed as it needs to be in our relations with other nations.

No wonder they called this exercise "Operation Geronimo".

Under Operation Geronimo, the law ( the laws of war ) does not have to be followed as it would have to be in our war with other nations.

Under Operation Geronimo the cardinal principle of chivalry which still obtains under the laws of war can be totally discarded.

Geronimo's children are protesting the use or abuse of his name by the US this way.

But i am neither shocked nor surprised by it.

From the days of Geronimo to this, nothing's changed.

Operation Geronimo is the way all "hostile" Indians were dealt with in the Indian Wars, down to this day, when scores of AIM or activist Indians have been targetted & "neutralized".

Operation Geronimo is how Edward Lansdale's US Army slaughtered the Huks in the Phillipines.

Operation Geronimo was codenamed Operation Phoenix in Vietnam when they covertly targetted & assassinated tens of thousands of Viet Cong resistance leaders & cadre.

Operation Geronimo in Vietnam oversaw resistance members even being buried alive at sea on being hurled from US choppers by US personnel.

Operation Geronimo goes on today in Libya as the US / NATO incinerate Qaddafi's son & 3 grandchildren by bombing their home.

Outsourcing Operation Geronimo to NATO doesn't take away Obama's obvious clearance of the Operation bearing America's signature imprint.

Operation Geronimo is going on now against the dirtpoor farmer population of Afghanistan, complete with body part trophy culling.

Operation Geronimo … America's way, America's approach, America's operations mindset.

Operation Geronimo. Not the exception, but the rule.

From Geronimo's day to this, nothing has changed.

  55. "Two wrongs don't make a right," as the old adage suggests killing Osama bin Laden doesn't solve the problem and it is ethically questionable. The truth is that even if bin Laden was physically weak that doesn't mean he wasn't mental powerful and capable of planning and overseeing activities that are of malicious intent.

His death was justified as a preventative measure but that doesn't make killing right. It is too bad that he wasnt captured alive and from what I've read Obama had prepared a team of lawyers, interrogators, and interpretors, standing by to intervene if he had been caught and needed to be brought into custody. The thing I can't understand about A.Q. and bin Laden if you are mad at US government and their ways of opperation world-wide why kill innocent civillians like in the Twin Towers who have no power in the system.

The inner workings of government and the Presidency are a mystery – their ways and motives are exponentially higher than the ways of a civilian. The average person is just trying to work and make money to survive – if they are lucky have a little fun too. Nobody wants blood on their hands. Maybe the USA is an arrogant global leader but given the little information we have as to the entire scope we can only judge based on the historical average – the human rights movement is making progress.

100 years ago there was no such thing. I pray for honest, ethical leaders, to come into power through democratic election, who will not be tempted by greed and help deliever options for prosperity to the people they serve. The world has always been savage by some degree but if you take a less cynical view of the history of it you can see moral code and standard are slowly impoving. Keep protesting peacefully, holding people accountable, demanding change, and in time new ideas, attitudes, and behaviors will be adapted.

  57. Obama had a team of lawyers, etc ready in the unlikely event of bin Laden's capture ?

This is the same as claiming Lady Macbeth had her husband's alibi ready in case Duncan survived on the morning after.

  58. This assassination was done by the clearance & order from the current commander in chief himself, Barack Obama.

It was also in direct violation of Executive Order 11905 from a previous commander in chief, President Gerald Ford :

"No employee of the United States Government shall engage in , or conspire to engage in, political assassination."

Ford's order was given to stop murders conducted by the CIA shadow government within the government.

But in this instance Obama, the head of the very US government itself, lead, decided, & oversaw the act of assassination from start to finish.

  59. Burial at sea, without the post – mortem required by law ?

The Mufti of Dubai has said with eminent common sense that he could have been buried anywhere on land in secret.

No one would haved known the location of the burial.

No shrine could have been built.

The sea "burial" only makes sense ….

1 ) As an expression of the very spirit of contemptible meanness towards any challenge to itself that makes American exceptionalism what it is & how it's seen throughout the world.

2 ) As an expression of the utmost hatred for the one man who humiliated the mightiest superpower in history.

3 ) As the best way to prevent any verification of the deed & any identification of the deceased.

The only evidence of death in this case is the US government, which has historically lied to the rest of the world & covered up its actions in the name of national security.

Who indeed IS it in that wieghted bag at the bottom of the sea ?

Is there even such a bag or such a body ?

Instead of laying his ghost to rest, the US has spread it through oceanic undercurrents throughout the globe.

    & murdered its own sleep.

  60. That's just what Churchill wanted to do.

He wanted to execute the captured German leaders without any trials.

But US Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, chief prosecutor at the Nuremberg Tribunals, told President Truman :

"We could evecute or otherwise punish [ the Nazi leaders ] wihout a hearing. But undiscriminating executions or punishments without definite findings of guilt, fairly arrived at, would … not sit easily on the American conscience or be remembered by children with pride."

    & thus there was Nuremberg.

  61. How Bush & Obama have lowered the moral bar for governmental practice in public !

In 2001, the US Ambassador to israel condemned israel's policy of targetted killings or "premptive operations", saying :

"The United States government is very clear on the record against targetted assassinations. They are extrajudicial killings, & we do not support that."

Such a statement would be unthinkable today.

Former White House spekeman Ari Fleischer suggested before the Iraq war that an iraqi ought to take a bullet to Saddam, thus sparing the cost of war.

& now the wheel has indeed turned, & it's Shaul Mofaz who urges the israeli government to deal with Palestinian leaders "as the US did with Osama bin Laden."

  62. After Bin Laden’s involvement in sep 11, Bush administration took a stand "War On Terror", This gave many State Terror countries a chance to kill its own civilions. One of the first victims are Tamils in sri lanka. whether US killed Bin Laden in action or not sri lanka killed over 50,000 Tamils using Bin Laden's "War On Terror".

"This was not justice, it was an extrajudicial execution. If you shoot a man twice the head you do not find him guilty. You find him dead. This was revenge. And it was served very cold indeed."

Across Indian Country Native women editors denounce the killing of unarmed men & women along with bin Laden in Abbottabad.

One editor headlined "First bin Laden, Then Who ?", observing :

    ******* ********

A new miltary escalation in the AfPak war ?

This assassination is also phase 2 of what barrister at law Irfan Butt sees as America's "inevitable war against Pakistan." Phase 1 was the use of drone attacks. Phase 2, "the use of select ground operations against targets in Pakistan, is activated. The fact that this constitutes an act of war in violation of international law seems to be under the radar as the law givers once again reinterpret domestic & international law to suit their national interests."

  68. So the Peelamists have invaded this blog on the killing of Osama Bin laden too???

Get a Life you retarded Morons !!

Try to change your Terrorist mentalities and specially, stop lying about the Sri Lankan government – live wit the fact of worlds most ruthless Retarded terrorists of Osama Bin Laden and Walapalle Piribahara being DEAD !!!!! They needed to go one way or the other – They were being inhumane – who on earth would kill innocent people and disturb normal civilian lives if not ???

They were killed for the betterment of the rest of the humans living in this world – take Sri Lanka itself as an example – how many died or ruthless terror acts prior to Prabaharan and how many afterwards ?? I know for a fact het afterwards count is ZERO !! People live in peace in SL immaterial of religion, skin colour or ethnicity. You need to come to Sri Lanka to experience the peace and joy that's enjoyed here. Just because your terrorist cause was not fulfilled, you cannot be spreading lies to the world.

Just like Al Quaida, LTTE was a branded terrorist organizations and LTTE are responsible for training most other Terrorist organizations on inhumane acts like suicide bombing. So, in the eyes of the world, if getting rid of Osama is right, so should be the view on getting rid of Prabha – At least Osama had a comparetively more pleasent looking appearence than the retarded Prabaharan.

Rohan – I saw your post on UN column, but, unfortunately was closed prior to me replying to you – That post clearly showcases that you are a terrorist and a person with terrorist mentality – the best proof is when you justified the killing of TAMIL people in Sri Lanka by the LTTE which they tld they stood for. So, you have no right to even visit these blogs as these are meant for humans and not retarded terrorists like you.

AI You really need to re-visit your HR Bible and include definitions to the words Terrorist, Terrorism in to it and draw a cause of action on how to react when getting rid of such Retards. You cannot save a retarded terrorist who inturn would only continue to Kill millions of innocent people. They don't value our innocent lives – why should their lives be valued at all ?? Who is the majority? Terrorists or Humans ??

    P.S.
Mango – A(ss) Savage has learnt the art of copy and paste of Peelamists I see :)!

  70. That’s just what Churchill wanted to do.

He wanted to execute the captured German leaders without any trials.

But US Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, chief prosecutor at the Nuremberg Tribunals, told President Truman :

“We could evecute or otherwise punish [ the Nazi leaders ] wihout a hearing. But undiscriminating executions or punishments without definite findings of guilt, fairly arrived at, would … not sit easily on the American conscience or be remembered by children with pride.”

    & thus there was Nuremberg.

  71. No one sets about to dismember an entire chain in international law simply for the hell of it or only for revenge.

If history's our guide, then this assassination will be another hole the US is digging itself into, by escalating the war to a deadlier level. Are they using bin Laden's death to do this ? Or is it bin Laden who is using them ?

Despite its claims to the contrary, the US has been far more erratic & dysfunctional ( as well as indiscriminately bloodier & dirtier ) than Pakistan in the war on al Qaida. Pakistan has actually captured the key al Qaida suspects the US now has, while Obama follows a take – no – prisoners line even with unarmed men & women, let alone the alleged mastermind. Why would they be mad enough to physically do away with the key figure of the enemy force at the very moment he falls into their hands ? Or is there a method behind this madness ?

Despite ISI vacillation, Pakistan actually preceded the US in surveilling Abbottabad in 2003, pursuing al Qaida there & willingly sharing information with the US on this area after 2004.

But both The New York Times & The Washington Post have buried this crucial information in paragraphs 13 & 12 , respectively, of their reports, thus largely hiding the facts of Pakistani collaboration & presenting Pakistan as a failed ally.

    Why ?

Is this a coverup of the truth behind Abbottabad, or a preparation for deeper US intervention in Pakistan, a new stage of the war whose herald is this calculated execution of the unarmed bin Laden ?

Is the Abbottabad Massacre ( i can find no better word for it ) their Shock Doctrine in action to ready the world for the violent reshaping of things to come ?

  72. How Bush & Obama have lowered the moral bar for governmental practice in public !

In 2001, the US Ambassador to israel condemned israel’s policy of targetted killings or “premptive operations”, saying :

“The United States government is very clear on the record against targetted assassinations. They are extrajudicial killings, & we do not support that.”

Such a statement would be unthinkable today.

Former White House spekeman Ari Fleischer suggested before the Iraq war that an iraqi ought to take a bullet to Saddam, thus sparing the cost of war.

& now the wheel has indeed turned, & it’s Shaul Mofaz who urges the israeli government to deal with Palestinian leaders “as the US did with Osama bin Laden.”

  73. Journalist Gary Younge :

“This was not justice, it was an extrajudicial execution. If you shoot a man twice the head you do not find him guilty. You find him dead. This was revenge. And it was served very cold indeed.”

    ******** ********

Across Indian Country Native women editors denounce the killing of unarmed men & women along with bin Laden in Abbottabad.

One editor headlined “First bin Laden, Then Who ?”, observing :

“Obama has now shown he will use the entire US military against one individual. 97 Navy Seals & mercenaries were part of this lethal swarming on one unarmed man.”

    ******* ********

A new miltary escalation in the AfPak war ?

This assassination is also phase 2 of what barrister at law Irfan Butt sees as America’s “inevitable war against Pakistan.” Phase 1 was the use of drone attacks. Phase 2, “the use of select ground operations against targets in Pakistan, is activated. The fact that this constitutes an act of war in violation of international law seems to be under the radar as the law givers once again reinterpret domestic & international law to suit their national interests.”

  74. After Bin Laden’s involvement in sep 11, Bush administration took a stand “War On Terror”, This gave many State Terror countries a chance to kill its own civilions. One of the first victims are Tamils in sri lanka. whether US killed Bin Laden in action or not sri lanka killed over 50,000 Tamils using Bin Laden’s “War On Terror”.

Rulers of Sri Lanka are continuing to vomit out worms of lies to justify their atrocities against innocent lives. They started with “War on Terror” but changed the buzz word to “Humanitarian Operation” in order to deceive the international community. “War on Terror” was an accepted norm during the Bush era but lost its validity later. Therefore they had changed the name of the game to “Humanitarian operation”

Fifty thousand innocent men, women and children were brutally murdered on the sandy beaches and in the jungles of Sri Lanka, by the Sri Lankan Military while the whole world stood back and watched.

United Nations, who is supposed to be a guardian for the oppressed people in the world turned out to be a silent spectator of a man made disaster that had taken the lives of many thousands.

“[a]ccountability for serious violations of international humanitarian or human rights law is not a matter of choice or policy; it is a duty under domestic and international law.”

You need to come to Sri Lanka to experience the peace and joy that’s enjoyed here.

They don’t value our innocent lives – why should their lives be valued at all ?? Who is the majority? Terrorists or Humans ??

    P.S.
Mango – A(ss) Savage has learnt the art of copy and paste of Peelamists I see :)!

According to recent U.N. findings numerous war crimes were, and still are committed against Tamils. But it is too late for those murdered Tamils of Sri Lanka. However, the deeds of those who tried to protect Tamils from persecution — the few righteous around the globe, represent a flickering spark of humanity in a world that had gone dark. They offer a sharp rebuke to those who say “we had no choice,” or “we did not know,” or “it was a war against terrorism.”

No words can bring meaning or sense to such senseless deaths. But commemoration can bring hope to those who survived and those who remember. And in so doing, we can at least show the victims of Sri Lanka’s madness that their deaths had some effect on us, caused us to reflect, reconsider and even hope.

Like many Sri Lankan Tamils in the West, there’s a troubled, guilty part of us that’s still thousands of kilometers away. Troubled, because Tamils are still a persecuted minority in Sri Lanka. And guilty, because not everyone we loved managed to escape, like we did.

  84. What I think is amazing is that on this Amnesty blog, in the time since this one post about one mass murderer getting his righteous death, there have been numerous other stories about human rights abuses inflicted on millions and millions around the world, from the racist Nazi like oppression of the Kurds by Iran, sex killings and rape used as a weapon of war on hundreds and thousands of female victims daily in Congo, the millions tortured and exterminated by that genocidal nuclear armed crazy man in North Korea, etc. etc. etc.

All these important human rights stories in the last few days about how millions and millions around the world are suffering horrors unimaginable, yet all these other these human rights issues get fewer comments on this web site combined , less comments than the nearly 40 comments so far on this one single now incredibly boring stale, old story about the death of one single miserable excuse for a glamorized goat herder.

Tamils live quite peacefully in this country and enjoy all the benefits that everyone else enjoys – there are CEO's of companies to respected politicians who are Tamils – But, your retarded LTTE killed all those good Tamils who did not approve your line of thoughts – like world renowned Lakshman K. Those who argue that Sri Lanka has finally brought an end to the Asia’s longest running conflict, are not only ignorant but making a blunder by indirectly supporting the dangerous regimes in Sri Lanka that are determined to wipe out a race from the face of this earth. Torture, murder and rape against the minority Tamils, abductions, summary executions, forced colonizations of Tamil lands, extension of military bases in Tamil areas even in the absence of war and various human rights abuses, have made this country as an island of hell.
Sri Lankan rulers use a simple binary logic that their categorise anyone who oppose their extremist policies and human rights violations as terrorists. They are able to see only two types of humans on this planet. Those who are with them or those who are against them. Since they identify the ones who disagree with them as terrorists, Sri Lanka has in many instances blamed Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Red Cross and many other humanitarian organisations as terrorist sympathisers. David Miliband, Hillary Clinton and many other western leaders were blamed as terror supporters. This is exactly like how the Al Qaeda blames the western countries as terror states and their leaders as terrorists.

Thousands of digital pictures and video clips, many satellite images and other concrete evidences are available to prove without a shadow of doubt that Sri Lankan regime is still committing countless crimes against the Tamil community in Sri Lanka with the excuse of fighting terror.

Don’t call any one terrorist here, U have blood stain hand or U r paid employee of state terror, who wiping out Tamil over 65 years now. U know, if bin laden did not attacked on sept 11, by now the 193rd member state in the United Nations would have been born. That is “Tamil Eelam”. Sri lanka still wiping out Tamils in the name of “War On Terror”, which is actually state terrorism. It sucessfully killed over 50,000 Tamils in 2009 alone.
