I wonder why has he spent almost 20 years of his life on death row, instead of being executed, if the powers that be are so sure of his guilt? Surely it’s because in light of no sound witnesses and physical evidence that they are just the opposite in fact, unsure that he is guilty, in which case why hasn’t his sentence been commuted to life or overturned?

I wont rush to judgment either way.

I would like to know if he has a prior record (convictions).

If so and it hasn’t been published, that’s bias. On the other hand if he has no prior convictions, that would be a big plus.

Either way this info should be front and center!

I’ve heard all of the evidence from both sides on TV and the news, and I believe that if the state of Georgia executes Troy Davis without a new trial, we as Americans have lost all common sense and resorted to murder by way of bureaucracy. It’s no understatement to say that our national history is based on our ability to be more ethical with the treatment of our citizens by way of progressive constitutional rights governed by the common sense at the time. Now, more than ever, is a time for common sense. If the law doesn’t fit,….then don’t use it. If we kill an innocent man with a law because we refuse to obey our common sense, then we are effectively killing him ourselves.

I think it is horrible that another man wearing a blue uniform has gone down. I think that whomever did this should face the consequences, but to convict an innocent bystander just because it is a cop and they feel they need someone behind bars for it. I really pray that whoever did this is caught and whoever is wrongly being accused gets set free just like all the other innocent people of the world deserve. I understand it was a police officer, but he too was a normal person and i feel that if he was alive today he would not want another normal person just like him wrongly accused, and KILLED! That means two people who deserve to live and be free will be dead, and this horrible situation will turn even worse.

So the US Government and the state of Georgia’s Governors should be ashamed regarding Troy Davis. What about Troy Davis’ human rights?

The President has closed Guantánamo Bay because of the violation of human rights. What about Troy Davis’ human rights?
