To World Leaders in Davos: We Want Real Action for Human Rights!

It’s day two of the World Economic Forum and Amnesty International is there to remind government and corporate leaders that there is a real world outside the “fortress” of Davos.  We want real action, for real people, for human rights on the ground.

Watch Amnesty’s Secretary General Salil Shetty’s video blog from Davos today:

  1. Corporate leaders and Government need to remind forever that in this real world "outside", human values must to prevail over economical interest.
The First real action would be allowing (scientists, technicians, biologists, farmers) participate in politics, in order to prove the devastating
consequences of ground and fishing overexploitation, oil installations, oceans and rivers contamination, water shortage, pollution, forest devastation etc…
All people should have the information needed in order to influence individually to change the World for better. Otherwise the disaster has only just begun.
Economic exploitation, the mismanagement in the resources distribution is generating millionaire losses, social discontent, hunger and misery.
If we do not want to be the spectators of our own destruction we have no choice but understand that any investment or financial exploitation must contain an ethical sense and a purpose of the common good.
All citizens of this planet called Earth are here to respect, love and enjoy it.
It's time to break frontiers, barriers and taboos to work together in a new order of values; we are playing with our own survival.
